We accept a maximum of 8 ventures into each cohort. If you’re not sure you’re a fit, we encourage you to inquire anyway. Our Programs team can help you determine if the program is a fit for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will I receive investment by joining Fundable? Does AO take equity in my startup?

Accelerate Okanagan does not invest or take any equity in our client’s companies. While Fundable will expose you to new funding partners and potential investors through training and a demo day at the end of the program, it does not guarantee you will receive investment.

What stage is this program for? Do I need to be incorporated to join the program?

This program is ideal for businesses that have not yet taken on outside investment or are just starting to plan to raise pre-seed investment. While you do not need to be incorporated to join the program, it is likely that you will need to be incorporated to receive investment or funding.

I’m not sure if I’m going to raise capital. Is Fundable still for me?

If you’re unsure if raising capital is for you, Fundable will help you to make an informed decision. Having a baseline understanding of the investment and funding landscape is essential knowledge for any founder.

What is the cost of joining Fundable?

The cost of joining Fundable is $450 per month, however Accelerate Okanagan Members receive a discounted rate of just $350 per month for 2 months.

We would love to have you as a member, which costs $350 per year for startups. In addition to discounted program fees, members receive a ton of other perks including access to the member library, expert office hours, and savings on tech tools.

Will Fundable help me to build my network?

Yes! Fundable is a chance to connect with a network of peers and mentors. Participants will also have the opportunity to connect with angel investors and capital partners at a demo day at the end of the program.

Do you provide legal advice for navigating potential deals?

We don’t provide legal advice, but we can refer you to one of our partners who can! AO and our mentors provide clients with educational and advisory services only. Founders make their own decisions and should seek the support of a legal professional.

When are the sessions?

The program will be conducted over an 8-week period on Thursdays starting October 5th to November 23rd. Each session lasts 2 hours to provide time for learning, discussion, mentorship, and peer relationship building.

Do I have to attend every one?

You get out of this program what you put in. Attending the training and mentorship sessions is strongly recommended. While occasional absences are understood, the value is derived from active participation.

Is this program in person or virtual?

This program is in-person at our Kelowna office with an option to join remotely if in-person is not possible for you.

Does Fundable replace the Okanagan Angel Summit?

We recommend Fundable to help you prepare for your Okanagan Angel Summit application. Fundable is an educational program designed to help you create your fundraising strategy. The Okanagan Angel Summit is a competitive program that culminates in an investment being made in the winning company.
