Elevate your Intellectual Property

Customized IP Program

Accelerate Okanagan has partnered with New Ventures BC and Innovate BC to bring AccelerateIP to the Okanagan. This program is supported by the Innovation, Science and Economic Development of Canada (ISED). Break the cycle of intellectual property scarcity in Canada by learning and developing your company’s IP. This program has three separate streams to provide startups with access to education, skills development, mentorship, and professional support to protect, implement, and leverage their intellectual property.

What to Expect

AccelerateIP is designed for startups who want to refine and develop their intellectual property.  It will be offered through three streams of programming

Stream 1

Gain Education and Awareness

Gain foundational intellectual property training, through online educational modules, in-person and online webinars, and an in-depth IP Certification Program for startups

Stream 2

Build Strategy and Connection

Get 1:1 mentorship and up to $25,000 of eligible costs covered for legal strategy development

Stream 3

Implement IP Strategy

Access financial support to cover up to $60,000 of eligible legal implementation costs.

Program Criteria

AccelerateIP Is Ideal For

  • Innovative startups who want to learn how to protect their ideas and intellectual assets
  • Entrepreneurs seeking guidance and mentorship on Intellectual properties
  • Startups looking for capital to develop targeted IP strategies
  • Business must be in BC, Yukon, Nunavut, and Northwest Territories
