The investors have deliberated and the results are in…

After 8 weeks of pitches, meetings, due diligence, and training, Nico Christofi, CEO of Signalytic based in Vancouver, has taken home the $195,000 investment fund at the Okanagan Angel Summit Finale! Signalytic’s system enables remote health care facilities to generate and share vital data in challenging conditions.

“The Angel Summit has been an incredible experience. The quality of the investors involved, their due diligence, and their advice throughout the process has been even more valuable than the winning prize. We’re so glad to have been a part of it amongst some other really tremendous companies, and to have the backing of an amazing cohort of local investors is an honor for us.” said CEO Nico Christofi and VP of Finance Steve Petterson.

Congratulations goes to all of the Summit participants but especially the Top 6 who pitched live on stage at the finale; skiKrumb, VersaFile, Propra, Inhub Farms, Fireswarm and Signalytic. With the level of talent and opportunity seen in the all of the finalists, the investors had a difficult decision to make. CEO Al-Karim of Propra based in Calgary took home the People’s Choice award.

Over 200 community members gathered at the Kelowna Innovation Centre last night to see the final pitches and hear the keynote from Dr. Ray Muzyka of ThresholdImpact. The Summit Finale is all about celebrating community and strengthening connections in Western Canada’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. With a full house at the Innovation Centre, the energy and excitement was palpable.

This year, the Okanagan Angel Summit reached a major milestone of directly investing $1,000,000 in to well-deserving Canadian startups since it’s inception in 2019. This impact wouldn’t be possible without the support of our incredible community partners and sponsors, many of which come back year after to support the event.
