The position could also be fully remote with working in BC or Alberta. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Tech Lead at TerraSense Analytics will be responsible for participating in the specification, design, development, testing, and support features for the core product. They will be a highly motivated self-starter with strong written and oral communication skills and work well in a team environment.   • Analyze requirements and RFPs and come up with efficient software designs.
  • Participate in determining the future direction of the core product and related products in the areas of software architecture, infrastructure performance, test and reliability.
  • Design, Document, develop, test, and integrate software functionality for various components.
  • Take a collaborative design and validation approach in working with a multi-functional Scrum team of software development and test engineers.
  • Troubleshoot and provide resolutions for technical issues encountered in the deployment of software solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight in software design, processes and development activities.
  • Provide training and mentorship to other engineers as required.
  • Assist other engineers in the team to plan and execute tasks as required.
  • Working closely with our CTO and Product Manager in engaging with our end users to create user stories for the team to help facilitate and guide the product requirements.

You will bring your experience and expertise to support and lead our scrum teams in building and refining our sensor integrations, real-time data processing, data fusion algorithms, and/or software integrations. You will use your Python / C++ skills to develop, maintain, optimize, and document our core product. You will contribute to our ongoing efforts to build high-functioning DevSecOps and MLOps pipelines, building and enhancing the tools and systems we use to make deployable AI software.The MIST project is our core project developed through the Innovation for Defence Excellence and Security (IDEaS) program and is key to our success.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years of industry experience designing and developing C++ software applications.
  • Solid knowledge of Python and C/C++ development.
  • 5+ years of experience programming in Linux.
  • Experience developing & maintaining deployable code.
  • Proven experience as a Technical Leader.
  • Knowledge of the software development life-cycle.
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Adept at deployment and proficient in troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, and sockets programming.
  • Experience developing unit tests, integration tests, and functional testing, including the development of related test automation integrated in a CI/CD pipeline desired.

 

REQUIREMENTS

For High Level Security Clearance Application (Necessary for Employment with Terra Sense)

  • Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Canada.
  • Have lived in Canada for the last 10 years, AND must disclose any stays out of the country longer than 6 consecutive months.
  • Dual citizenship must be disclosed to hiring manager.

 

COMPENSATION

  • $132,000-$163,000
  • Okanagan Relocation Top Up
    • In-Office/Hybrid employees are eligible to receive a 10% top up paid quarterly.
  • 5 weeks flexible paid vacation PLUS additional 1 week paid off during the Christmas holiday season. A total of 6 weeks paid vacation!
  • Medical, dental and vision benefits commence on start date.
