Be it resolved that Canada’s affordability crisis justifies a temporary wealth tax: The Roger Watts Debate

29 March 2023 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm

In a world of division, debate matters. On Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at 5:30 p.m. in the Mary Irwin Theatre, join top UBC Okanagan student debaters as they argue their case as part of the Roger Watts Debate.

Students will debate the motion Be it resolved that Canada’s affordability crisis justifies a temporary wealth tax before a panel of community judges who will decide the winners. Prizes of $1,000 will be awarded to the first-place finishers, while prizes of $500 will be awarded to the runners-up.
