Real Talk: Mental Health

24 November 2022 @ 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm

This event is open to all genders!

On November 24th Discovery College will be launching Real Talk, where we will be discussing a hugely important but frequently unspoken topic – men’s mental health. Real Talk:MENtal health is basedon the It’s Tough To Talk principles we developed with HeChangedIt. We hope through our panel of 6 men sharing their experiences that we break down what it means to ‘man up’, get to the nitty gritty of men’s mental health, and how guys can open the conversation about what’s really going on.

It’s no coincidence that the Real Talk: MENtal Health is happening at the end of November. Many of us recognise the popularity of Movember, now a world-wide recognition of men’s health. Men are three times more likely to die by suicide. Globally one man dies every minute of every day. Real Talk: MENtal Health will show that men’s mental health is not just a conversation in November. It needs to be every month and every day.

Join can choose to join in-person or online!

In-person will be hosted at Okanagan Co-Lab where you’ll hear from a panel of guys talking about their experiences and also have the opportunity to browse some local men’s businesses, join walk-up Naloxone training, and network with people who want to change what it means to ‘man-up’. Or you can watch the panel live from anywhere via our high quality online stream!

Real Talk: MENtal Health is proudly sponsored by Innov8 Digital Solutions, and brought to you by CMHA Kelowna’s Discovery College in collaboration with HeChangedIt, and support from Co-Lab & Rebellious Unicorns.
