The Standard Space in Penticton, BC, is the Okanagan’s newest coworking, creative and collaborative events space, presenting an exhibition of new paintings by artist Sondra Richardson. Launching their new Artist in Residence program, the exhibit will open to the public, Saturday, May 11th and be exhibited in this unique space until May 18th (noon-6pm daily).
This exhibition, HERE.AFTER. is an homage to life, love, and what remains. A colourful collection of works in mixed media (acrylic paint, oil pastels, graphite, ink, and found objects), explores basic emotion, stories, places… the marks people make on the world. Celebrating the human, treasure the discovered, the larger than life and small-scale, the eccentric, the ordinary: whatever is made of love and caring.
Sondra Richardson is an artist whose work has been influenced by the multiple interests in her life, encompassing various studies including the areas of technique, drawing, painting, colour history and psychology, murals, textile arts, furniture and ‘functional’ art, interior and ceremony design. She has exhibited in Canada, United States, and Mexico; works are in private collections internationally. More information about Sondra can be found online at sondrarichardsonart.com
Located in downtown Penticton, The Standard Space is not just a place to work; they are an idea generator, an innovation hub, and a space for collaboration. It’s a space designed for elevating productivity and creativity in an environment for entrepreneurs, freelancers, artists and professionals.
An opening night reception with the artist in attendance will take place Saturday May 11th, 7PM. The exhibit is open to the public for drop in, Sunday May 12- Saturday May 18th, noon to 6PM or by private appointment. The Standard is located at 124 Estabrook Avenue, Penticton, BC.
