Startup Sprint February 2024

The concept is simple; start a company over a weekend! e@UBCO Startup Sprint is a weekend learning-by-doing workshop that teaches in an exciting, hands-on environment. We are excited to host this session in partnership with WeBC.
The program is FREE with meals provided but you must apply by Monday, January 22, 2024.
Spots are limited. This is an in-person experience that will be delivered on UBCO Campus. All applicants will be e-mailed with more details after applying. There will be a waitlist created should we reach our maximum capacity.

PROGRAM DETAILS

We will kickoff Friday with registration at 4:30 PM, workshop starts at 5:00 PM. Saturday starts at 9:00 AM with breakfast, then we will lead you through at full day of content and working on ideas with your teams and mentors. This is a full day with opportunity to work late, please mark your calendars. Sunday we start with breakfast at 9:00 AM and will wrap up around 4:30 PM.

e@UBCO Startup Sprint teaches entrepreneurial skills in an extreme hands-on environment. This program provides the tools needed to start successful companies. The program creates a living entrepreneurship laboratory on campus bringing the community together ranging from freshmen students to freshly-minted PhDs, Faculty, Researchers, Alumni and Community Members from all disciplines and backgrounds. Participants gain experience in cross-disciplinary collaboration, brainstorming and ideation, group productivity, ad-hoc leadership and decision-making under severe time constraints.

You’ll receive hands on experience with Brainstorming & Ideation, Lean Startup Principles, Customer Discovery, Customer Development, Mentorship, Prototyping, Pitching, and Networking.

  • Location: UBC Okanagan Engineering, Management and Education Building
