Speaker Bios

Vida Thomson, CPHR. Vida is a Chartered Professional in Human Resources, Career Coach, and Professional Resume Writer. She started her career in Human Resources Management and worked for 10+ years in all facets of HR, including recruitment, training and development, onboarding, compensation, performance management, employee relations and conflict resolution. In 2017, Vida started Flourish Career Consulting to focus on career development services for clients, including Professional Resume Writing, Career Assessments and Career Coaching, including interview preparation, career transitions, career planning, outplacement services, and leadership development. Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts degree, a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Human Resources Management, a Certificate in Social Media & Online Marketing, and Certificate in Psychometric Assessments.

Laura Sukorokoff has always had a passion for the employee experience. She has built a career in learning and organizational development and seeks to make work a great place to be. Laura is a highly regarded speaker and a subject matter expert in the area of engagement and retention. She works with leaders, entrepreneurs, managers, coaches, and professionals in all facets of business.

With over 20 years’ experience in business, Laura has expertise in change management, employee and customer experience, management, coaching and mentoring, goal-setting, and leadership development.

Laura brings a fresh way of thinking to employee engagement and retention, and is the author of It’s Not Them, It’s You: Why Employees “Break Up” With Their Managers and What To Do About It. She firmly believes managers hold the key to making workplaces more human and her company, C-Change Learning and Development, provides those managers with the knowledge and support they need to get that done.

Gwen Gnazdowsky, founder of “ONE Conversation Coaching & Facilitation” has been helping people resolve issues and achieve personal, professional and relationship goals, One Conversation at a time for over 25 years. Her public-speaking engagements include “Happiness is a Paradigm Shift” for TEDxBCIT; and Speaker Coach for TEDxECUAD. Gwen taught Assertive Communication and Public Speaking Courses at Langara College and Vancouver School Board. She was the National Mentorship Program Developer and Coordinator for two cohorts at the Women in Leadership Foundation. Gwen delivered workshops for clients including: Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia, Human-Resources Management Association, Certified Management Accountant Association, University of British Columbia Anthropology and Canadian Women in Science and Technology. Gwen is the Co-Chair of The Laurier Institution a National, Non-Profit supporting Diversity. She began her career in Social Services and as a Life Skills Coach, working with people in crisis, especially Youth at Risk and their families.
