KELOWNA, BC — The Village App, is selected as one of the top 100 semi-finalists in StartUp Global’s Pitch Competition.

The Village App is a no-noise, judgement-free platform that enables people to effectively connect with, and create support networks specific to their needs. The purpose is to develop meaningful, intention-driven connections through simple asks and offers without the toxicity and algorithmic interference of current social platforms.

The idea was born out of necessity when co-founder Ashley Stone had a surprise third pregnancy that turned out to be twins. “I found there were a lot of people offering me help but actually asking or even accepting offers felt awkward and overwhelming,” says Stone.

The Village App has a chance at winning from a cash prize pool of CAD$75,000 at the grand finale in October. From now until September 26th, you can vote for The Village App to win the People’s Choice Award. The company with the most votes will be automatically placed in the top 10 and receive $5000.

Once in the top 10, our team will have 90 seconds to pitch to the panel of judges and answer a series of questions. If you would like to show your support for a local company doing great work vote here.
