Top 5 Things to Know About the Digital Skills for Youth Program Featured Image

The new Innovate BC Digital Skills for Youth (DS4Y) program is currently open so that BC-based employers can hire and train youth in digital skill sets so that they can successfully transition to the workforce​

We’ve collected some commonly asked questions regarding the program:

Who is eligible?

BC-based companies with less than 500 employees, with no other DS4Y funding approved yet

What are the job placement requirements?

The candidate hired must be a post-secondary graduate between the age of 15-30 who can legally work in Canada and self-assessed as underemployed prior to the placement. The role you hire for must also be considered a digital role.

How is “digital role” defined

The role could be in AI, Automation, Big Data, Digital Marketing, Programming/Coding, Cybersecurity, UX/UI, AR/VR and 3D printing

How much funding can I apply for?

You can apply for up to $26,000. $17,000 for Salary/MERC, up to $4,000 to cover digital skills training, and up to $6,000 in capital/direct costs
