Last month, we celebrated the fifth anniversary of the OKGN Angel Summit. Over 200 community members gathered for Finale on March 16 in the Kelowna Innovation Centre to see which of the finalists would receive the $225k investment.
The goal of the 10-week program is to bridge the funding gap and create more connections between companies looking for growth capital and investors looking for investable companies. Since its inauguration in 2019, the OKGN Angel Summit has supported over 200 companies, and 98 investors who have directly invested over $800,000 through the Summit program. In addition to the Top Six pitches, attendees were also able to network with active funds and investor groups and hear from Okanagan founders during a panel discussion on mergers and acquisitions.

At the end of the night, SMRT1 Technologies from Nelson, BC took home the investment with Kelowna’s Tonit taking home the People’s Choice award. The energy and excitement surrounding this year’s OKGN Angel Summit was palpable, with a record number of investors, sponsors, and community supporters, participating in this year’s program.
