Taking place in the heart of downtown at the Kelowna Innovation Centre, Tech the Halls offers a laid-back atmosphere where individuals can mingle and expand their networks amidst the backdrop of live music, delicious food and festive drinks.

Embracing the holiday cheer, attendees are encouraged to wear their most extravagant ugly holiday sweaters for a chance to participate in OYP Collective’s light-hearted annual Ugly Sweater Fashion Show.

In keeping with the season’s spirit of community, the event will also serve as a collection point for the Central Okanagan Food Bank, encouraging guests to bring non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation alongside their ticket purchases.

Avantage, the presenting sponsor of the event, is launching a Center of Excellence in Kelowna and partnering with Accelerate Okanagan with plans to create 100 new jobs in the region.

“This is an important step for Avantage, and it will help accelerate our next growth cycle, says Trevor Kray, Managing Partner at Avantage. “We’re highly committed to innovating with our customers, but also in our own internal operations so we’re combining what we do in Avantage labs and tapping into a new talent pool in the Okanagan. We’ve had our eye on the market for quite a while and have decided the time is right for us to make this investment.”

Avantage will also be matching all donations from this fundraising campaign for the Central Okanagan Food Bank, up to $3000.

This event is open to the Okanagan community, from tech and business professionals, to entrepreneurs, post-secondary students and local residents – all are welcome.

Included in the $30 ticket price are two drink tickets, an assortment of light bites and a lot of loud laughter. Additional refreshments will be available for purchase by Gather Restaurant.

Tech the Halls takes place on Thursday, Dec. 7 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Kelowna Innovation Centre (460 Doyle Avenue) and is a  19+ event. For more event details and tickets, visit trellis.org/techthehalls.
