As the Okanagan tech community and companies within it continue to grow, so does Accelerate Okanagan’s support model. Coined ‘Continuous Acceleration,’ we deliver unique programming designed to produce mentorship and coaching for startups, growth-stage companies, and everything in between. The reality is, each stage of the entrepreneurial process demands a different set of tools and we are constantly iterating in an effort to meet these needs.

Startup stage programs ensure founders remain focused on product and market validation, market penetration and expansion through play a vital role in the Okanagan tech community and nurturing at this stage is an essential service in a productive entrepreneurial ecosystem.

On June 1st, 2018 we welcomed several new companies to join our startup stage programming. Here is a look at who they are and what they’re all about.

Atlas simplifies adventure planning by combining proprietary ranking and evaluation technology with input from a community of explorers to provide better adventure information, recommendations, and tools to outdoor enthusiasts. Dwell In brings trust and transparency to the unstable and competitive rental market by providing renters and landlords an easy, application process with verified scores and reviews, and standardized listings. Greenspace is a digital platform that improves behavioural health treatment outcomes by integrating technology and clinical research into the traditional psychotherapy process. First, individuals are matched with the mental health therapist most appropriate for them, using an algorithm that draws on clinical data from past treatment outcomes. Second, the Greenspace platform supports patients and therapists through the treatment process by automating consistent progress measurement and facilitating collaboration with primary care providers. These core elements of the Greenspace solution have been proven to make it 3.5 times more likely that an individual achieves reliable change and reduce the number of therapy sessions by 25%. NextClass is a mobile academic realtor, designed to show students options for their future. Students input programs that they have an interest in taking and select location parameters for possible schools, and from there our app searches for all corresponding programs and institutions that match the student’s selections. The Good Neighbour is an app designed to allow neighbour to neighbour tool and household item rental. It allows people to make money from renting tools they may have laying around in their garage. In return saving people money from buying new tools for a one time use. Works great for people with vacation properties that don’t want to have a set of tools at each location.
