Looking to plug into Vernon’s innovation ecosystem?

In 2018, the City of Vernon conducted a survey of the ‘hidden professionals’ in our community. These were entrepreneurs, knowledge workers, and creators working remotely or from non-traditional offices such as coffee shops and coworking spaces. This was long before the COVID-19 pandemic made work-from-home the status quo.

It’s hard for cities, businesses, and support services to find these individuals because of their ‘hidden’ nature. It can also be difficult for these professionals to know what resources are available to them. That was a big part of why The Vernon Innovation & Entrepreneur Workspace (The VIEW) was created. In addition to the workspace, meeting rooms, and events, The VIEW is a central hub for the community to plug in. We provide an opportunity to connect and learn about the services, programs, and resources available here in the North Okanagan. All with the goal of building strong businesses and growing the local innovation ecosystem.

Throughout The VIEW’s first year of being open, we were frequently asked questions  about meeting spaces, digital equipment, and workshops—all of which are in high demand. That is why we’ve created the Vernon Innovation Map, an interactive tool that helps you find the resources you need.
