Learn Roy Group’s coach-approach to leadership April 29 to May 1.

As people seek greater alignment in their work with purpose, contribution, and self-development; the demand for managers and leaders who can coach teams and individuals has grown tremendously in recent years.

The Roy Group’s keystone program, Leader’s Discipline, offers a comprehensive and immersive introduction to leadership by coaching. The facilitators introduce clear, detailed steps for how to harness higher quality and focus from your team through the powerful habits of inquiry, giving feedback, and creating ownership where it belongs.

During the program, participants will;

  • Experience practical models for increasing employee performance, learning, and engagement
  • Use these approaches to address real emerging leadership issues
  • Practice and build on their ability to coach leaders and teams of leaders
  • Increase understanding of the behaviors that develop leadership
  • Investigate when coaching is most effective
  • Increase their ability and confidence in giving and receiving honest feedback.

This facilitators for the Kelowna Course are Yolanda Moran and Ian Chisholm. They each bring a unique perspective and experience to the program. They have trained and educated many people in their careers and look forward to bringing this program back to the Okanagan.

Ian Chisholm

Founding Partner

Ian Chisholm co-founded Roy Group in 2004 with the intent of making the statement ‘Ex Eximio Eximia: From your finest self comes your finest contribution.’ his own life’s work — and a vehicle for assisting others to find theirs. His greatest fulfillment comes from seeing the multiplier effect that is achieved when honourable people from all walks of life invite each other into leadership. Ian is a well-known coaching practitioner, social entrepreneur and pioneer of executive education in Europe, where he guided the challenging operational startup of the award-winning Columba 1400: Community and International Leadership Centre on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. Prior to Skye, Ian served as the director of programs for Operation Enterprise, a division of American Management Association International headquartered in New York City, where he played an integral role in pioneering an initiative to bring young talent from innercity USA to experience a regime of formal leadership development.

Graduates of The Leader’s Discipline are equipped with tools to be better listeners, more reflective colleagues, and to help position others for success by removing interference. These leaders manage their conduct, accept responsibility rather than place blame, and approach workplace issues with curiosity rather than judgment.

This leadership course is happening April 29 to May 1 at the Kelowna Yacht Club. If you would like to learn more about the course, its instructors and how to register head to the Roy Group website.
