Accelerate Okanagan Venture Acceleration Program participant Nido Design Inc. is one of the largest Net Zero (Passive House) design and consulting companies in North America and they are looking to revolutionize the construction sector. The Kelowna-based startup (formerly known as Brett Sichello Design) is transitioning to provide a one-stop-shop including design, construction of prefabricated building envelopes, onsite construction management, and ongoing client care.

The BC Provincial Government recently created a law for all new buildings to be constructed Net-Zero Ready by 2032 but Nido Design isn’t waiting. The company has years of experience consulting, designing and building Net-Zero ready buildings — buildings that requires so little energy that a small solar panel array can produce all the energy it needs. By capturing the inefficiencies of conventional construction, Nido’s process delivers significantly better buildings that provide up to 75% energy savings, reduced construction timelines, exceptional occupant comfort all with beautiful, modern design aesthetics.

“The building sector is a dinosaur stuck in the 70’s and is ripe for innovation.  Our proven approach has an immediate impact on how people live today.” says Brett Sichello, Nido Design Founder and Principal.

“Ultimately, we’d like to create communities where people are more socially connected and can live with a drastically lower environmental impact without having to break the bank”.

Nido Design will be hosting an information session at the Okanagan Centre for Innovation on Wednesday, September 20th from 5:30 to 7:00pm and will be showcasing a Net-Zero Passive House currently under construction in Lake Country and a thirty unit multifamily Passive House building in Merritt.
