JCOS Immigration and Education based in Vancouver and China is focused on bringing qualified foreign workers to Vernon. Vernon is one of 11 communities across Canada participating in the Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot (RNIP) program designed to attract skilled workers from other countries.

Community Futures North Okanagan is leading this program which is intended to meet labour shortages and spread the benefits of economic immigration outside the large metropolitan areas of the country.

JCOS Immigration and Education has had a long term relationship with Vernon, bringing international high school students to School District 22 since 2008. JCOS has enlisted support from Dave Lee former Vernon International Program District Principal.

“I have worked with JCOS staff for more than 10 years, I trust them and know they are committed to providing quality service to their clients”, states Dave Lee, now working as an International Consultant.

There is a great interest from workers in China and India to come to Canada. Recent relations between the USA and China have also resulted in skilled foreign workers not being able to renew their current work visas in the USA. Many of these workers have contacted JCOS with hopes of working in Canada.

“Our hope is to provide qualified foreign workers the opportunity to work and enjoy a good life in Canada” says Emma Liu, a Burnaby based JCOS Immigration Consultant.

Local employers looking for skilled workers are encouraged to contact Dave Lee, 250 503 6366, delee28@gmail.com
