Get ready for an elevated investment experience. The OKGN Angel Summit is back for its fourth year!

Join us on March 16th at the Finale to watch as the six remaining companies make their final pitch to the 32 participating angel investors for their chance at the $150K investment fund. That’s right – $150,000. In addition to the pitches, attendees can look forward to a special keynote address and a fireside chat between networking breaks.

SAVE A SEAT FOR THE FINALE

First Nations leader, Canadian businessman, and Author, Chief Clarence Louie, will be taking to the virtual stage to deliver a keynote address. He has been the Chief of the Osoyoos Indian Band for an impressive ten terms and has received numerous recognitions and accolades, including; being a recipient of the Order of Canada and being inducted into the BC Business Hall of Fame and Canadian Business Hall of Fame. During his talk, Chief Louie will share his insights from his progressive work with the Osoyoos Indian Band and inspire us on how we can create stronger communities through entrepreneurship and economic development.

After the pitches, Renée Warren and Dan Martell will join for a fireside chat. This husband and wife duo are both making big moves in business. Renée Warren is an award-winning entrepreneur, inspirational speaker, author, and founder of We Wild Women, which helps entrepreneurs start and scale their own business. Dan is a serial entrepreneur having built several multi-million dollar technology companies starting at the age of 17. He’s also an award-winning angel investor, having invested in companies like Intercom, Udemy, Hootsuite, Unbounce. Today he’s an executive coach focused exclusively on B2B SaaS through his business the SAAS Academy.

The Summit Finale is the culmination of a 10-week program where accredited investors and startup founders are introduced to the world of angel investing through a guided, hands-on process. There are multiple pitch events and training activities happening throughout the 10-week journey. This holistic process provides participating companies with a chance to learn how businesses are vetted, complete due diligence, and make improvements to their pitch. In the end, the investor group will have to make the tough-decision of who receives the $150K investment fund live at the March 16th finale.

The 32 participating investors have been busy evaluating the companies since the beginning of January. They have refined the lengthy list of applicants to the top 24 and soon the top 12. Only 6 companies will be selected to pitch at the finale event. This year we have companies working on solutions for everything from reducing waste and improving urban transportation to automation in the cannabis and retail industries.

MEET THE TOP 24

In addition to a giant cheque, the Summit Finale is really all about celebrating community and strengthening connections in Western Canada’s startup ecosystem. The Summit Finale will be hosted on Remo, a virtual networking platform that allows for attendees to move around the virtual venue, gather with friends in small groups, and chat one-on-one with other guests.

This year, the OKGN Angel Summit is free to attend for Accelerate Okanagan members and students. General admission tickets are available for $25 on eventbrite.

Keep an eye on our blog for updates on the participating companies as they continue their climb to the Finale and a chance at the $150K investment fund.
