Atrium Ventures VCC Inc. announced on Friday that they will be making a $200,000 investment into Walleye Networks Inc.

Specializing in network management and network traffic analysis, Walleye is poised to capitalize on the emerging parental control market, predicted by ABI Research to be $2 billion in 2018.

Walleye founding team consists of network management industry veterans Derek Lownsbrough, Austen Martin and Brett LaForge, all previously with Vineyard Networks which sold to Procera Networks in 2013.

We are bringing to market proprietary technology that provides real-time visibility and control into online usage for all devices in the home.

“We are bringing to market proprietary technology that provides real-time visibility and control into online usage for all devices in the home’” said Derek Lownsbrough, Walleye CEO.  “With Walleye, parents have visibility into which applications their children are using, how long they are using them, when they are being used and a wealth of information to stay informed about the ever-changing landscape for today’s connected children.”

Intel Security recently concluded that “Parents must have frequent and open conversations with their children about their online behaviour as well as its risks and rewards”, finding that 79% of parents wish they had the ability to monitor online activity of their children. The ability for busy parents to stay informed and engaged with their connected children is not delivered by any solution in the market today.

The Walleye team are proven experts in the field of network management applications and successful entrepreneurs with first hand experience starting, growing and exiting a technology business.
