The top 16 companies advance directly to Round 3 while the remaining 27 companies will compete for the remaining 9 spots.

skiKrumb Trackers is founded by long time Okanagan resident and business leader Keith MacIntyre. Keith has owned and operated Big Bear Software for 20 years.  After years of helping others build high quality software applications, Keith is switching gears to his 11-year dream of giving parents peace of mind while at ski resorts with skiKrumb.

‘Kids 5-10 generally don’t have cellphones and they can easily get away from you on the hill. skiKrumb gives parents peace of mind that they can find their children if they get separated.  I’ve had conversations with hundreds of parents and skiKrumb is what many parents are looking for’, Keith MacIntyre, founder.

Keith’s son Zach misunderstood instructions from his ski instructor at Apex Mountain when he was 9 years old and ended up on the other side of the hill from his class.  “Apex is a small and extremely safe mountain, but the ride up the triple chair scanning the trees for my son was terrifying.  He was happily skiing at the bunny hill wondering where his class was, but the experience stuck with me. Writing custom software for dozens of companies since 2003 I knew there had to be a better way.”, Keith

It took many years of hardware research and building the business model but over the last year skiKrumb has done extensive testing at a BC ski resort and will be ready for launch this winter.  skiKrumb will be available as a daily rental at select ski hills in Western Canada for the 2023-2024 season.  Parents will have an app where they can see the live location of their children as well as view a replay of the day to enjoy with their children. skiKrumb is also available for ski schools to monitor children in lessons and find kids easily in the unlikely event they get separated from their instructor.

“Over 25 years in the tech industry I’ve worked with many technologies and have a vast amount of hardware and software knowledge.  With that, we’ve developed something quite unique. skiKrumb will work in many areas on the hill where there isn’t cell coverage.  Our unique hardware combined with exceptional software will provide something for parents that no other technology can.  Skiing and boarding is fun and skiKrumb can help during those times when a parent is separated from their child and everyone can get back to having fun quickly.”

Round 3 judging begins August 2 and the top 10 will pitch for the top prizes Sep 8-9.
