Description

Imagine Everything is looking for a user experience web designer to help support K-12 schools with their online marketing and communications. Imagine working with teachers, principals and K-12 support staff who are as creative and passionate about design as you! You’ll also work with our community development and marketing team to manage the Imagine Everything website.

This role is responsible for delivering clean, clear, and professional UX-centered design that conforms to accessibility, responsive, and brand standards. The right individual uses a perfect balance of strategic thinking and creative execution to create interesting, relevant, and enticing communication.

The Work

Here are a few things you can expect from this role:

  • Teaching and coaching stakeholders in best design practices
  • Working with both internal and external stakeholders to negotiate success in projects
  • Creating low fidelity and high fidelity website and application mock-ups
  • Designing information architecture diagrams for site navigation
  • Working with our front-end development team to ensure concepts can be functionally and practically made
  • Assisting with migrating and re-formatting content
  • Assisting with design-related support requests
  • Advocating to our software development team for features and functionality inside of our content management system that enhances the overall quality of the web design and communication work we do with school boards
  • Providing training and guidance to junior level designers and front-end developers

  • You’re extremely creative, find inspiration easy, and you’re always looking to experiment with new design theory or practices
  • You’re very self-motivated and can manage time effectively
  • Where other people might overlook those fine details such as spacing being off by a few pixels, it would drive you crazy to launch a project that isn’t perfect
  • In your spare time you find yourself drifting towards design blogs and articles because it’s part of who you are
  • Solid understanding of search engine optimisation, web accessibility compliance standards, and both responsive and adaptive design principles
  • Ability to communicate effectively and confidently to all levels of the organization including with our school district partners
  • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS, and vanilla Javascript
  • Mastery over the Adobe Creative Suite
