Summer Student Web Developer

Hey College/University/Boot camp students! Minga is looking for someone interested in a summer position writing some code and learning about software development. We’re looking for someone who’s a quick learner, comfortable with all sorts of technology, responsible, and a good fit for our team personality wise.

About the position:

Our company builds an app used in schools for building school community and communication. Our app is a mobile app built mostly in Javascript, so that’s the key thing we want you to be able to have done before. You’ll be writing code, fixing bugs, doing some testing and contributing in any way you are suited. Bonus points for any previous experience using any of: CSS, Angular, Cordova, Mysql, Mongodb. We’ll teach you the ways of working in an agile environment, and give you a good introduction on how to write good code.

The position is a 8 week term, $20/hr for 40hrs/week.

This position is funded by the Canadian summer jobs program and any candidate must meet the eligibility requirements for that program:

To be eligible, youth must:

• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;

• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,

• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
