As the successful candidate you will be responsible for for the research, promotion, and implementation of communications and marketing programs for identified Economic Development Commission initiatives.
You will:
- Promote the Economic Development Commission and its programs through the following activities:
- Implement communications plan in consultation with Business Development Coordinators, including writing content.
- Implement and monitor digital marketing campaigns.
- Post to all social media platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter) in accordance with communications plan.
- Create and publish EDC newsletters.
- Update website content as required.
- Liaise with partner organizations to cross promote business resources and events.
- Support event(s) logistical planning i.e., venue booking, agenda preparation/registration and coordinate with stakeholders.
- Draft and distribute promotional materials as directed.
- Support the EDC team in the collection and dissemination of economic climate data:
- Export and save data from Statistics Canada, Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation, BC Stats and others upon release.
- Prepare statistical information upon request by Business Development Coordinators or EDC Manager.
- Prepare economic climate presentations.
- Assist in the development and publication of economic profiles and other EDC marketing materials.
- Maintain and update EDC resource guides, website(s) and data portal(s).
- Assist the EDC team in identifying funding opportunities, preparing grant and award applications and supporting project management.
- Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in this role, you will have a degree in communications, business or a related field and a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related role. You will have strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects with competing deadlines and the ability to analyze statistical information. You will be able to work independently as well as part of a team and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Additionally, you will have strong proficiency in MS office, WordPress, Canva, Google Analytics and Linkedin Campaign Manager.
This is a CUPE 338 position that works Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm and pays an hourly rate of $37.67 per hour.
