About Wellness Together Canada

Wellness Together Canada is a major initiative funded by Health Canada to provide virtual mental health and substance use support for all Canadians. The Wellness Together Canada solution is powered by Greenspace’s technology and delivered in partnership with Stepped Care Solutions, Homewood Health, and Kids Help Phone.

The Role

As a Product Owner on the Wellness Together Canada project, your role is to understand the needs of our users and orchestrate the delivery of impactful product initiatives that help maximize the value of the product. You will collaborate with the Product Manager and other stakeholders to understand the product strategy and translate that into a refined backlog of user stories. You will work closely with our cross-functional development teams to deliver features and improvements in an agile environment.

What you’ll do

  • Be a subject matter expert for the Wellness Together Canada portal and app, when it comes to the capabilities and opportunities of our platform, providing support for Content, Engineering and Design teams as needed.
  • Continually develop the product backlog in partnership with the Product Manager, Product Designer, and Engineering Manager, and support sprint planning to ensure a steady and constant flow of releases.
  • Translate the strategic roadmap into clear product and sprint goals.
  • Translate requirements from business, end-users, and stakeholders into clear user stories and acceptance criteria.
  • Build trust and work collaboratively with the scrum team to deliver on the sprint goal, helping manage the sprint backlog, making effective product decisions and interfacing with external dependencies as required.
  • Help facilitate sprint ceremonies like Standups, Sprint Planning and Retrospectives.
  • Coordinate and prepare communication around major feature releases to ensure that our users are aware and engaged with new features being developed.
  • Document processes and standard operating procedures in our internal knowledge base.
  • Act as touch-point for any developer questions about tickets; whether their work is ready for release or needs refinement.
  • Responsible for sign-off/acceptance for each product enhancement, facilitating User Acceptance Testing as needed, prior to release go-live.
  • Responsible for updating, managing, and coordinating the release of content in the Content Management System.
  • Prepare and distribute release notes to stakeholders, keeping the team informed of current and upcoming releases.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the user experience and increase impact.

Key Skills

  • You’re a natural communicator who can interface directly with the customer and collaborate with a cross-functional team of developers, designers, QA, executives, etc.
  • You have in-depth understanding of lean-agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban and can help lead improvements to our product management practices towards being more agile, data-driven and validating ideas throughout the product development process.
  • You can run an effective discovery process on future initiatives to prepare them for delivery.
  • You work collaboratively and transparently.
  • You have a great growth mindset and always hungry to keep improving yourself, the product, and our product management practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and relentless follow through.

Bonus Points

  • You’ve completed Product Owner and/or Agile Scrum certification.
  • You have previous experience or demonstrated interest in the Digital Healthcare or SaaS spaces.
