As a Financial Analyst, you will develop skills in finance, accounting, analytics, and technology as you work in our fast-growing, tech-based bookkeeping division, Numu Books. As the division continues to grow, you will be involved in improving processes, analyzing clients’ financial data, managing client relationships, and learning from senior team members and designated accountants.

What you’ll do

As a Financial Analyst, your role will create value for entrepreneurs and business owners and contribute to the growth and development of our team.

Client Objectives

  1. Be creative in the solutions you come up with to help clients.
  2. Complete weekly and monthly tasks for clients as part of Numu Books’ technology-based bookkeeping services, including:
  3. transaction management and classification
  4. process optimization
  5. technology integrations
  6. financial analysis of monthly results
  7. preparation of monthly reporting packages including dashboards and data visualizations
  8. Manage deadlines and deliverables with efficiency and professionalism.
  9. Contribute to team initiatives and collaborate with team members on other files.
  10. Automate, streamline, and optimize processes.
  11. Keep up to date with financial policies and standards.

What you need to do it

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline (ex. Bachelor of Commerce, Finance, or Computer Science).
  • Strong strategic thinking, planning, and implementation skills.
  • Excellent problem solving, judgement, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions to complex issues.
  • Advanced (or higher) proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Great verbal communication skills.
  • Work well with team members.
  • Proficiency with office technology and remote working software (video conference, messaging, email).

Bonus points if you have:

  • A desire to or already working toward professional designation (CPA, CFA, etc.)
  • 1 – 3 years of experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or data analysis.
  • Experience in financial analysis and the development of financial tracking and reporting systems.
  • Experience modelling and reviewing business processes.
