Director of Engineering

This new role, Director of Engineering, reporting to our VP, Production and Engineering, is a dream job for a business-savvy engineering executive, with an impressive career of leading and delivering results at every stage in the product development lifecycle in a manufacturing environment. You’re a visionary whose career highlights include creating and driving product strategy that reduces costs of goods sold and time to market, while ultimately driving market growth.

The MAKR Group consists of three companies with distinct products— Wekid, Waterplay and Parkworks. You work for Wekid, our manufacturing company that bends stainless steel pipes into different shapes, welds, machines, and assembles giant structures that defy gravity to meet the needs of Waterplay’s customers. We connect communities through play and social experiences, and our Engineering Group are the masterminds who conceptualize and design the next great feature for interactive play, and the technical gurus who our customers rely on for service and support to keep parks running, the water flowing, and ultimately, kids playing.

As our newest Director, you’re as talented with people as you are with processes: you comfortably communicate with stakeholders ranging from onboarding new hires to negotiating with vendors. In this role, you will:

• Lead, inspire, elevate and coach a team of superbly talented, incredibly committed, and diversely-skilled engineers, product designers, and product support professionals
• Constantly seek out ways to find efficiencies, through technology, new processes, skill development, even new product designs
• Take initiative to keep us safe, as an ambassador for best practices in safety and sustainability

If you are a P.Eng. with at least 10 years of director-level success in a product development environment, are skilled in environmentally responsible engineering design, development and maintenance, and consider innovate and safe product design as your top KPI, we think we could play well together.
