Position Overview
Microserve’s internal Business Process Management (BPM) Team is growing, and we are looking for a Reporting and Data Analyst, Lead to join the team! Key areas of responsibility will be to manage & grow the reporting service, support our (small) team of Reporting Analysts while also developing reporting solutions which will provide insight on KPI’s and overall business performance. This role can be performed anywhere remotely within Canada with an understanding of overlapping working hours within the Pacific Standard Time zone.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical support & guidance (30%)
- Support the team with technical questions and guidance on PowerBI, SSRS, SQL
- Be the expert in all things PowerBI including Dataflows, distribution of reports, refresh, security, implement procedures to improve data management and time to deliver reports, etc
- Identify and propose strategies around technical problems affecting the team
Manage and grow the reporting service (20%)
- Own and improve internal operating procedures enabling the reporting services
- Implement best practices
- Digitize reports and improve self-serve reporting and analytics platform for the organization
- Prioritize & assign reporting requests, manage capacity of team members
Develop & support business reporting solutions (50%)
- Design, publish and maintain various reports & dashboards in PowerBI
- Oversee cross functional reporting initiatives such as operational performance, scorecard & KPI development
- Conduct requirement gathering meetings to identify, define, and capture the right data and metrics for report and dashboard design
- Translate customer needs into clear requirements and simple/meaningful reports by leveraging business intelligence infrastructure to transform raw data into meaningful and intuitive visualizations
- Develop reports and dashboards using multiple data sources and to ensure they are built to specifications
- Building corporate and business unit dashboards using PowerBI (highest priority), Power Automate, DAX, PowerQuery
- Pull raw data from enterprise systems and apply ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) techniques
Essential Skills
- Data modelling experience with PowerBI
- Knowledge or experience with Power Automate, DAX, PowerQuery/PowerAutomate
- Ability to write SQL queries and understand the syntax of SQL
- Knowledge of data architecture & data warehousing
- Experience in analyzing, organizing, modeling and visualizing data
- Strong MS Excel skills
- Ability to speak with & interview internal clients (soft skills)
- Ability to set schedules, deadlines, milestones, and work/project timelines to support delivery of assigned projects
- A university or college degree in science, engineering, management, or a related discipline

- Ability to take self-guided online courses and to self-teach additional components of tools

- Communication (spoken & written)
- Flexible and adaptable. Able to work in ambiguous situations
Preferred Skillsets
- Experience working with ConnectWise is an asset
- Experience with BrightGauge
- Knowledge/experience with Power Platform
- Lean,Six Sigma, BPM Methodology experience or exposure
